the 3rd Oscar winning film music score by Hungarian-born classical composer Rózsa Miklós (1907-95) with more than 100 scores and about 17 Academy Award nominations, having lived in the U.S. from 1940.

One of the greatest movie moments of all time...
Christ rises to face a hardened Roman legionnaire, the man is instantly convicted, confused, and stunned that any unarmed man could command such respect by a look.
Turns away and then turns back for an instant, still unbelieving, confused by the power he has just witnessed.
The director, the script, the actor playing the soldier brought together a moment in movie history I will never forget!

What kind of arrogance would lead someone to imagine they could redo this masterpiece of film, music, casting and script from the original?
Can't support the 2016 remake at any level.

The movie BEN HUR moved me deeply in so many ways;especially with the introduction of
the saviour and his willingness to give water to Ben Hur when he was so parched by having to walk through the heat of the desert.

Just breathtaking!....This Oscar-winning score is incomparable and unsurpassed by any other Hollywood Epic music! I can just see those Roman soldiers marching and Charlton Heston preparing those beautiful white horses for the race....ah yes, I remember it well don't you?

-Messala: Judah, either you help me or you oppose me, you have no other choice. You are either for me or against me!
-Judah: if that is the choice, then I am against you.

Surely this is the overture from the start of the film, not just the prelude and 'charioteers'. In any case it's magnificent in the way epic film scores used to be. The middle of the charioteer march where the cellos, horns and trombones take the theme is really stirring.
