Compositor:

Once upon a time & when in my youth I did my best to play music like these folks do but I failed. I tried but still it was decided that my music skills were not most premium. My trumpet playing skills were not best on the market but I did not fail myself. These many years later I still love the music and salute everyone playing or singing these tunes. Most intense, relaxing, professional, entertaining, just bad-arse sounds ... and they make it look so easy.

You know what, they did such a good job on the main theme; I was listening to them play while looking at something on my phone, and at 8:18 I instinctively looked up, expecting the title crawl to be over and fully expecting to see a ship descent to a planet. They had my subconscious convinced I was watching the actual movie!

Every time I watch this video I always stop, rewind and replay the same part of the video because I personally think it is hilarious. Watch from 9:50 to 10:15. If you look at the two violinists going at it about who can overdo it, look at the one directly to their left, our right and look at her expression. At one point at 10:15 you can see her stare at them and then roll her eyes. Hilarious!

Mum and dad took me and my sister to the cinema in 1977 to watch Star Wars, our first ever film as 7 year olds.. I cannot express the effect this had on us, the spectacular visual aside it was the score that burned into our souls.. 40 yrs later I’ve just found this and it’s beautiful. It won’t be the last time this gets a play.. what a fantastic performance 👍👍👍 and just for the record Star Wars and Empire are the only two for me, ROTJedi was silly and the rest is just franchise based... I hate that word, franchise, sorry folks just being honest..

I don't care if you love or hate Star Wars. The one thing we can all agree on is that the music is and always will be a masterpiece. George Lucas made the right call in hiring John Williams to conduct the original trilogy, the prequels and now the new sequels. They are all so unique, bold and powerful in their own ways.

I don’t know why, but the “Princess Leía Theme” always brings tears to my eyes. I don’t know if it’s because this beautiful composition is so eloquently written and performed. Or if it’s because of Carrie Fisher. Or both. But when the performance erupts with all the instruments in unison, it is overwhelmingly moving and just so magnificent, musically defining an amazing character, and yes, the actress who portrayed her.
